APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR SCHOLARSHIP

The Government has invited applications for the central sector scheme of scholarship for college and university students.

Students studying in first year at recognised colleges or universities are eligible to apply. under the scheme, the first-year undergraduate

students will be given Rs.1000 every month and when they join postgraduate programmes they will be given Rs.2000 every month. for

students pursuing engineering or other professional courses Rs.1000 would be given ill third year and Rs.2000 a month on the fourth and fifth years.

Applicatnts must have appeared for March 2009 class XII examinaions and the parents annual income must be less than Rs.4.5 lakh, a press release said.
