Looking for a Developer for a long term contract position with one of our leading Life Insurance Clients in Wilmington, DE. Ideal candidates would have previous Insurance industry Experience - Candidates must be local as the Manager requires an onsite interview. Candidates should have experience with Data Warehousing techniques and experience developing ETL packages. REQUIRED SKILLS: -2 years progressive experience in C#, Visual Basic, or .NET programming is required. -2 years experience with relational databases and a proficiency in the use of Structured Query Language and/or SSIS programming is a plus. -Experience with Data warehousing techniques and processes are a plus. -Advanced analysis skills as well as proficient skills developing ETL packages. -Familiarity with Database terminology and basic objects and structures are required. -Knowledge of Insurance industry is preferable. -Must be able to understand the subtle differences in terminology commonly used in the insurance world (Annual Premium versus Modal Premium; Account Value, Fund Value, Cash Value, Cash Surrender Value, etc.). -Must possess proficient written and oral communication skills. -Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline, or equivalent knowledge and experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization's client/server software applications. -Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts. Performs a variety of tasks. -Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager. -Select and map data from extract files which are produced in various formats from various policy administration systems. -Transform data from extract files to the appropriate format required for the models used within the Prophet environment utilizing DCS which is Prophets script-based data conversion tool. -Must be able to create and understand requirements/design documents. -DCS procedures must comply with the development standards that have been established. -Create test cases based upon supplied business requirements and expectations. -Execute thorough unit and regression testing as assigned. -Manage monthly data extract and clean up as defined procedures.
