BASIC FUNCTION OF THE WORK GROUP

Web Systems Operations Middleware Analysts support web related technologies that provide services such as third party authentication for revenue transactions and proxy servers which provide access to the Internet, URL blocking / filtering, intranet site hosting (iHost), etc., to all users. In addition, the team supports IIS & WebSphere installations and SSL Certificate creation. Specific supported technologies include Web Servers (JBoss, IIS, WebSphere), Proxy (TMG & WebSense), external authentication (SiteMinder) & Mobility (Bitzer, Reverse Proxy).

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

A. Position-Specific Skills (Must-Have):

• Solid understanding of infrastructure processes and practices. Prefer:

• Experience in Wintel Server Operations and Server Operations.

• (Middleware and Authentication knowledge is a benefit).

• Understanding of computing concepts (e.g., webservers databases, scripting, operating systems, computer hardware components, virtualization).

• Motivated to learn and leverage new technologies.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

• Comfortable with remote supervision and change.

• Adaptability to time pressures and changing priorities.

B. Skills Considered an Advantage (Nice-to-Have):

• Prior infrastructure experience.

• Process oriented.

• Experience working with Microsoft SharePoint, IIS, and Active Directory.

• Experience developing or supporting websites or web applications.
