Our Client has an urgent opening for Java Professionals

Main Function

The role involves working closely with the business facing development team in London to design and deliver high quality Java code under the direction of the development manager.

Main Duties
Delivers the functionality requested by the Development. The following is included:
• Rapidly learn BARCAP applications
• Rapidly learn or strengthen existing knowledge of the Investment Banking domain
• Low level design of solution
• Coding and unit testing of the solution
• Work with testers to verify the solution
• Rework defects and take part in defect analysis
Essential
• More than 5+ years developing applications of which the last 2 years have been with JAVA
• Spring Framework
• Java 5
• UML modelling
• Unix (preferably Linux / Solaris).
• SQL (Oracle, SQL server or Sybase).
• OO Design.
• XML, XSLT

Preferred

• Eclipse (pref) or other common IDE.
• Perforce (pref) or other enterprise source control tool.
• Oracle Coherence distributed cache
• ORM Frameworks (Hibernate, IBATIS)
• ICE framework
• web services (SOAP)
• Maven
• junit.
• java libraries 1.5+.
Candidate Profile:
• Proven ability to work within a team environment.
• Clear and fluent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to make good/sound decisions and use independent judgment.
