I am taking care of Human Resources for a "big data / data science" startup, called -indix, based at IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai. indix is building the 'world's largest price database and algorithms to deliver deep insight into prices.We believe that exploring oceans of data and building scientific explanations for what we observe will lead to exciting new insights and discoveries that can simplify people's lives and decisions. www.indix.com 

We are looking for bright Data Engineers to join our core product engineering team having strong interest and background in   Data Management, Data Cleansing, Crawling, Data Analysis using cutting edge tools and methodologies

Job Description:

- Understanding the problem context and implement proven techniques for data transformation, data cleansing, data curation of large amounts of data

- Develop programs to extract meta data from crawled content to feed the parsing pipeline

- Participate in a highly fluid environment applying agile software development principles

-  Carry out unit tests and other quality control mechanisms to inform and validate the designs and code

- Following continuous integration principles and use of Github Revision Control system

Technical Skill set (preferable):

·         -  Must be an exceptional coder in programming environments like Java, Ruby, Scala, Groovy

·         - Exposure to event-driven, asynchronous I/O frameworks.

·         - Programming experience in relational platforms like MySQL and non-relational platforms like  MongoDB

·        -  Exposure and interest in search and information discovery & retrieval, Data mining / Text Mining using extraction platforms.
