Essence of the Job / Job Purpose: 
 
• Responsible for development of business applications using Java, Spring & Hibernate.
• Gather, Analyze and translate business requirements with Business Systems Consultants
§ Perform technical evaluations, solution and design approaches to business solution needs
§ Document application design, development and operation specifications
§ Implement and follow SDLC
§ Ensure the quality of applications through formal testing and documentation
§ Support production implementation
§ Troubleshoot and resolve software  issues
§ Develop/update appropriate systems documentation
§ Complete all Wells Fargo administrative tasks (timesheet, status)
§ Complete other tasks as assigned by manager or team lead
§ Build and Deploy the application package
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with all levels of users and co-workers
  
8+ years overall IT experience in JAVA-J2EE Development with MVC, HTML, and XML.
• Extensive experience in object-oriented design and development (OOA/OOD) and the J2EE framework including Struts, AJAX, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Experience working with and applying design patterns to solve problems.
• Experience working with any RDBMS and good SQL knowledge.
• Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills; proven ability to work with end users to understand and elaborate requirements and to develop code using this process.
• Ability to develop code using a modified Agile-development approach, i.e., receive high-level document and work in an iterative fashion with end users to develop code
• Self-starter; ability to proactively identify issues and/or opportunities for improvement and champion them in team meetings
• Ability to work effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with quick adaptation to new technologies, methodologies, and systems
• Proficiency in using code analysis and debugging tools.
• Must be well conversant with Change management process; hands on experience with any code configuration tool like ClearCase/svn.
• Must be well versant with testing processes
• Perform code reviews of developers and ensure quality deliverables
• Provide timely status report to management team
• Strong leadership skills and drive teams towards results
• Mentor junior developers on technology and frameworks
• Ability to work in a matrixed environment
Preferred Skills:
• Experience developing and supporting web applications
• Certification in Java Development and/or Design.
• Experience in deploying applications and knows to configure TOMCAT.
