Language Instructor, you are responsible for colleagues English Language
and conversation skills, which will play an integral role in the guest
experience.
*Hotel Overview: *Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, is
located only a few steps away from the Masjid Al Haraam and the Holy
Ka’aba. This 76-story hotel, one of the world’s tallest, is the focal point
of the Abraj Al Bait Complex, part of the King Abdul Aziz Endowment
Project. The Hotel authentic hospitality is seen throughout 858 rooms.
**
*Summary of Responsibilities:
*Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, responsibilities and
essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Strong classroom management;
- Planning, preparing and delivering lessons
- Preparing and setting tests, examination papers, and exercises;
- Marking and providing appropriate feedback on oral and written
work;
- Devising, writing and producing new materials, including audio and
visual resources;
- Organizing and getting involved in social and cultural activities
such as sports competitions, annual colleagues event, dinners and
excursions;
- Attending and contributing to training sessions;
- Participating in and leading Conversation Classes;
- Preparing information for inspection visits and other quality
assurance exercises;
- Freelance teaching on a one-to-one basis;
- Basic administration, such as keeping colleagues registered and
attendance records.
- Works in close relation to the Training and Development
department, monitoring and recommending next level development plan.
- Assist in the creation, implementation and facilitation of a Hotel
English Training Plan in three brand hotels and aligned with the hotel’s
goals and strategic plan
- Initiate, co-ordinate, execute and monitoring on English training
activities within the three hotel brands
- Assist each brand hotel in developing English quality introductory
and ongoing English training plans and learning activities; maintain active
follow-up through on-going coaching and guidance and support
- Attend monthly Training Coordinator meeting arranged by each
individual hotel brand
- Provide support and development of Departmental Trainers as
required in term of the English communication improvement
- Support and provide updated English training information in
employee HR System, maintain accurate records of activities and participant
information
- Maintain an ongoing and active English Training Calendar to ensure
learning resources and opportunities are maximized
- Develop and manage a central internal resource library of
videos/books/magazines that can be utilized by all colleagues in related
with the English literature and communication
- Assist with general HR Initiatives
*Qualifications:*
- Minimum 2 years experience as a English Language Instructor in a
adult learning environment preferred
- Degree in English Communication, English Literature or its
equivalent
- Certified TEFL (Teaching English as Foreign Language)
- Solid communication skills, both written & verbal, preferably
bilingual
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities necessary
- Must be a highly organized person with strong planning skills
- Goal and results oriented
- Analytical skills, strength as a developer and a leader of others
are essential
- International experience an asset
- Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated and a charismatic team
player
