Job Description

Design, Develop and manage the Elearning Portal of University
Portal Management Plan outlining and documenting governance of process, desired processes for management, portal site usage, security policies, deployment, storage and archiving of data. Determine portal site architecture and overall site structure.
Design and implement a strategy for efficient, effective and usable online customer self-help tools and social media channels for existing customers.
Manage portal development projects, timelines deliverables etc., and supervise implementation & support of Content Management Systems as part of Portal infrastructure.
Ensure high availability of the Portal environment through the implementation and application of release management processes and procedures.
Provide forecasts and document capacity planning for Portal needs
Develop deployment plans for portal applications in conjunction with Project Managers.
Define and implement portal service levels and assure that service levels are met.
Enable portal security and efficiency by working closely with System Administrators to – performance tune server operations and maintain portal application integrity.
Monitor and report on portal site traffic and performance with regular audits
Provide weekly and monthly reports on project status to management. Keep project site up to date
Identify, recommend, and prioritize new portal features and applications in conjunction with business leaders, project managers and department managers.
Manage and/or provide guidance to contractors, vendors or staff as needed.
Identify, recommend, develop, and implement end user training programs to increase portal literacy and self-sufficiency.
Oversee development and dissemination of help sheets, usage guides, and FAQ lists

Skills and Competencies

Excellent understanding of internet portal content strategies.

Excellent team management and motivational skills. Project management skills – able to prioritize, organize a varied and full workload. Strong interpersonal skills – ability to get along with a variety of people.
Proactive attitude: able to spot project-based issues ahead of time and propose appropriate solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to persuade, influence and work in teams

Qualifications and Experience : Degree/ Post Graduate in IT, Computer science with Min 8 years total experience and atleast 4 years Project Management /team lead is required.
Strong knowledge:
Internet programming languages, including .net, C#, java
production application technology; IIS/COM+/ASP.Net
Familiarity with related technologies (e.g. Active Directory, SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, 3rd party plug-ins and web parts and migration tools)
Application development methodologies.
Computer graphic and multimedia design.
Analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications preferably
Experience interacting with technical and business executives to identify high-level solutions
Knowledge of Content Management Systems, OpenSource CMS etc is preferred
